The Wednesday cutoff.

All submissions for Sunday must arrive by Wednesday at 12:00 PM.

Our communications team uses Wednesday afternoon and Thursday to design, format, and prepare materials for Sunday. After Wednesday at noon, we generally cannot guarantee inclusion in that week's bulletin or worship slides.

Late submissions are still welcome — we'll do our best — but they're more likely to appear the following Sunday rather than the immediate one.

The 90-day window.

Submit ministry events at least 90 days before they happen.

This isn't a rule, it's a strategy. Big ministry events — conferences, revivals, banquets, retreats — need real promotion to succeed. That means custom graphics, multiple bulletin appearances, social media buildup, signage, and pulpit announcements over several weeks.

If you submit 90+ days out, we can build a full rollout. If you submit 30–90 days out, we can promote — but with less runway. Under 30 days is tight, and we'll do our best, but expect a smaller turnout than if you'd submitted earlier.

Where your announcement appears.

Each submission can be published across one or many channels — you tell us which on the form. Our team then adapts your content for each channel (a 200-word announcement becomes a 15-word slide, etc).

Sunday Bulletin
Printed, handed out at service. Best for events, deadlines, and items members will reference during the week.
Website
Posted to the announcements page and homepage. Best for events with broad public interest.
Email Newsletter
Sent weekly to subscribers. Detailed descriptions and calls to action work well here.
Worship Slides
Shown before and during Sunday service. Short, visual, can include a graphic.
Social Media
Facebook, Instagram. Best for graphics-driven events with shareable appeal.
Lobby Digital Signage
TVs in the church lobby. Graphic-driven; minimal text reads best.
Pulpit Announcement
Pastor reads aloud Sunday. Reserved for the most important items.
Member Text Broadcast
SMS to opted-in members. Use sparingly — for urgent or time-sensitive items only.

What we may edit.

Our communications team reviews every submission. We may make small edits for the sake of clarity, consistency, and our editorial standards. We won't change the substance of your message.

  • Length We may shorten content for the bulletin (50-word target) or slides (15-word target).
  • Tone We aim for warm, welcoming, and clear. Edits may smooth phrasing.
  • Format Dates, times, and locations get standardized for consistency across channels.
  • Scripture references We use NKJV by default. References get formatted consistently (Romans 8:38–39).
  • Names & titles Pastor, Reverend, Sister, Brother, Deacon — we use traditional titles consistent with our church culture.
  • Graphics If you don't provide one, we may design one that fits our brand. If you do provide one, we may not use it if it doesn't meet our visual standards. (We'll always reach out if there's a question.)
v

Our review process.

Every submission is reviewed by a real person. The pace and process depends on what you're sharing — different types follow different tracks.

Track 1 · Standard Announcements
1 Business Day
Announcements · Events · General news
  1. You submit. System sends you a reference number.
  2. We review. Comms coordinator reads, confirms details, may reach out.
  3. We approve. Email confirms when and where it publishes.
  4. We adapt. Content reformatted for each channel you selected.
  5. We publish. Bulletin, website, slides, social — goes live.
Track 2 · Celebrations
Same Week
Birthdays · Anniversaries · Births · Weddings · Graduations · Healing milestones · Other good news

Celebrations are time-sensitive. Submit by Wednesday and your announcement makes that Sunday's bulletin and worship slides.

Each person gets their own entry — we don't batch multiple birthdays together. Sister Johnson's 75th deserves her own moment, not a list.

A note on permission: The form will ask you to confirm the honoree has given permission. For child birth announcements, we require explicit parent permission. Please don't surprise people with public announcements they didn't agree to.
Track 3 · Pastoral Care
Hours · Private
Memorials · Hospitalizations · Family emergencies

These submissions bypass the normal queue. Pastor Johnson and our care team are notified privately within hours.

Nothing is published publicly until the family consents. We reach out to the family first, always.

When You Can't Wait For truly urgent announcements that can't wait for review — please call the church office at (214) 421-3741 rather than rely on the form.
